Anantara The Marker Dublin Hotel, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, is delighted to announce the appointment of experienced Minor Hotels hotelier Ludo de Jong as General Manager, effective from April 2024. In his new role, the Dutch national will continue positioning the hotel as the social and business hub of the regenerated Docklands – home to tech and finance headquarters, chic restaurants and world-class theatres.

De Jong brings with him a distinguished career in hospitality, having successfully led several high-profile rebranding, pre-opening, and large-scale renovation projects. His expertise has consistently propelled his hotels to market leadership, driven by a passion for engaging his teams to continuously strive to deliver unforgettable guest experiences. Notably, his passion for gastronomy has been pivotal in developing and launching several acclaimed food and beverage outlets, including Michelin-starred restaurants.

Having spent two decades operating at the very top of The Netherlands’ 5-star hospitality industry, de Jong joins Anantara The Marker Dublin Hotel from his position as Cluster General Manager at NH Collection Barbizon Palace Amsterdam and Tivoli Doelen Amsterdam. Previously, he led the team to open NH Collection Eindhoven Centre and previously served as Assistant Hotel Director at what was then NH Collection Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky. Formerly, De Jong was on Marriott International’s event management advisory board while employed in a senior F&B and events role at Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel.

"We are delighted to welcome Ludo to Anantara The Marker Dublin Hotel," said Giles Selves, Senior Vice President of Luxury Hotels, Minor Hotels Europe & Americas. "His dedication to innovation and team empowerment will be invaluable in delivering exceptional guest experiences at our first Anantara in Ireland.”

“It is an honour to embark on my personal Anantara journey at such an esteemed property,” said Ludo de Jong. “I look forward to working with the exceptional team to build upon the existing foundations of Anantara excellence with a focus on immersive exploration, world-class dining and a modern approach to wellness.”

De Jong actively participates in the European Hotel Managers Association (EHMA) and has been a volunteer member of Rotary International since 2017. He also served as a Board Member of Koninklijke Horeca Nederland Amsterdam (KHN), the largest organisation representing hospitality businesses in the Netherlands. Fresh from completing the prestigious General Managers Program at Cornell University in New York, De Jong is unwavering in his pursuit of excellence and growth as a leader in luxury hospitality.
