The Sunshine Coast is set to enter a new chapter, with bookings now open for the highly anticipated Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel and the first official images of its rooms released ahead of its early May 2026 debut.
Marking the arrival of the first full-service internationally branded hotel to open in the region in more than four decades, the 12-storey property introduces a new style of stay to the heart of Mooloolaba - positioned at the intersection of the ocean and the Esplanade.
The 180-room hotel has been designed to reflect Mooloolaba’s coastal character while elevating expectations around contemporary accommodation on the Sunshine Coast. Newly released imagery reveals light-filled rooms and suites featuring layered textures, natural materials and a refined coastal palette. Room categories range from 27 to 45 square metres, with interconnecting options available for families and groups.
Perched atop of the hotel, Sully’s Rooftop is set to become a defining feature of the property. The level 12 venue features a rooftop pool oriented towards the Pacific Ocean and expansive 180-degree views across Mooloolaba Beach, Point Cartwright and the coastline beyond.
The rooftop dining experience will focus on a modern Australian menu with seasonal produce and local seafood, celebrating the Sunshine Coast’s established network of trawlers, growers and artisan producers.
Additional food and beverage offerings include a street-level Lobby Bar designed to move from morning coffee to evening cocktails, with First Avenue Cellar & Bar to open following launch.
Wellness is central to guest experience, anchored by a dedicated AvaniSpa offering results-oriented treatments and AvaniFit, which integrates a high-performance fitness studio, in-room wellbeing programming and access to the surrounding coastline.
Scott Wright, General Manager of Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel said the first guests will be part of a historic moment for travel in SE Queensland.
“We are counting down the days to welcoming our very first guests through the doors. After four decades without a new full-service internationally branded hotel in the region, this opening feels genuinely historic.”
“For travellers, this is an opportunity to be amongst the first to stay at one of Queensland’s newest hotels and experience Mooloolaba and the Sunshine Coast.”
