Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort named Hotel of the Year and top accolades for NH Hotels & Resorts and Minor CEO Dillip Rajakarier.
Global Hotel Alliance (GHA), the world’s largest alliance of independent hotel brands, with the award-winning loyalty programme GHA DISCOVERY, has announced the winners of its 2024 awards. Minor Hotels was recognised in three categories, including Hotel of the Year for Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort, Best Cross-Brand Contribution for NH Hotels & Resorts and the Exceptional Contribution Award for Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and Group CEO of Minor International. GHA also acknowledged two of Minor Hotels’ brands, Anantara Hotels & Resorts and Tivoli Hotels & Resorts, for their 15 years of membership as part of the alliance.
Hosted at the historic Kanda Myojin Shrine in Tokyo, the annual awards ceremony acknowledged more than 20 hotel brands and properties from the GHA portfolio, including those in the Green Collection and the Ultratravel Collection, while hotels demonstrating performance excellence related to the GHA DISCOVERY loyalty programme also received accolades.
Every awards category was hotly contested, with at least four nominations in each from GHA’s more than 800 hotels in 100 countries, representing 40 brands, selected according to multiple criteria.
GHA CEO Chris Hartley remarked: “I’d like to congratulate all of our winners for their exceptional achievements. Each award winner has demonstrated remarkable innovation and commitment, and their contributions have significantly contributed to the success of GHA DISCOVERY, benefiting all hotel brands in our alliance. As we celebrate the alliance’s 20th anniversary, these awards, which include recognition of brands that have been part of GHA for more than a decade, highlight the strength of our global network, which continues to go from strength to strength.”
GHA’s awards ceremony coincided with its annual CEO meeting, which took place in Japan for the first time. It was attended by the CEOs of more than 40 GHA hotel brands, including Minor Hotels’ Dillip Rajakarier. The meeting shared insights into the preferences and behaviours of Japanese travellers, presented by GHA DISCOVERY in collaboration with Interbrand Japan.
First launched in 2010 and reimagined in 2021, GHA DISCOVERY now serves 27 million members worldwide, generating $2.3 billion in revenue and 10 million room nights (as of 2023).
