Master chocolatier Patrick Gelencser offers sinful indulgence at Niyama Private Islands Maldives, taking up residence 21-25 February 2025 for tasting sessions for the select few.
Patrick Gelencser was born with the art of temptation in his blood. The third generation of the House of Gelencser, he is one of only 15 chocolatiers in France who practise bean to bar creation, with numerous international awards to his name. Each of his bites are crafted with passion and precision, so exquisite they are showcased in a chocolate museum in the picturesque Loire Valley, as well as almost half a dozen boutiques.
Now, guests of Niyama enjoy the honour of seeing the master at his craft, as he hosts tasting nights across the resort’s spectacular settings.
Where and how the cocoa bean is grown is expressed in flavour - creamy, fruity, citrusy, nutty. Learn about the origins of each of Master Gelencser’s chocolates paired with the finest Caribbean and South American rums in the most spectacular setting of all, half a kilometre out to sea amidst the sunset.
Smooth and creamy. Nutty and complex. The perfect juxtaposition of textures is presented with a premium selection of whiskeys in a relaxed post-dinner setting at the heart of the island of Chill.
For the finale, a full gastronomic journey awaits, surrounded by the gifts of Mother Nature in bloom. Tapas and wine are followed by chocolate and port, Master Gelencser presenting his favourites to a maximum of 12 guests.
“We are thrilled to host rarefied events such as these led by masters of their craft such as Patrick Gelencser”, says Thierry Vergnault, Executive Chef of Niyama. “We take great pride in our culinary offering, creating spectacular experiences found nowhere else, and look forward to hosting many more”.
Spaces for each event are extremely limited, ensuring intimacy and full immersion, and advance reservations are highly recommended. For more information, or to make a booking, call +960 664 4111, visit niyama.com or email reservations@niyama.com
