Viral “Dubai Chocolate” Chef Nouel Catis to Launch Exclusive Collaboration with Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara
Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara is set to collaborate with celebrated Dubai-based Filipino-heritage patissier Chef Nouel Catis; best known as the creative force behind the viral pistachio kunafa chocolate that captivated dessert lovers across the region. Now leading his own namesake company and sister brand Sna’ap, launched in October 2024, Chef Nouel brings his latest venture to southern Oman with a new chocolate creation inspired by the rich flavours and heritage of the Dhofar region.
Introducing The Anantara Khareef Chocolate, a one-of-a-kind confection that blends the tropical beauty and heritage of Salalah into a single, unforgettable bite. Crafted using local ingredients such as aromatic frankincense native to Salalah and a sweet coconut katayef mixture, the chocolate offers a delicate balance of dulcet notes with a distinctly Omani soul.
Exclusively available from June – August 2025 throughout the Khareef season, this limited-time treat will be offered at Al Mina, the resort’s airy Mediterranean beachside venue. The collaboration marks a celebration of craftsmanship and terroir, inviting guests to experience Salalah’s spirit through a unique culinary lens.
In addition to the signature chocolate, guests can also indulge in another of Chef Nouel’s creations – a Coconut Malva Cake, adding a touch of homely comfort and nostalgic flavour to the seasonal offerings.
With a reputation for transforming bold concepts into beloved brands across the Middle East, Chef Nouel has worked with esteemed chocolatiers and industry leaders since 2013. Now with his own enterprise and a passion for innovation rooted in cultural storytelling, he continues to shape the regional culinary landscape.
We are delighted to welcome Chef Nouel Catis to our tropical paradise for this exclusive collaboration. His ability to infuse local elements with global culinary trends perfectly aligns with our commitment to offering guests truly unique and memorable experiences during the Khareef season.Andrea Orrù, General Manager, Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara
