Minor Hotels, a global hospitality leader with a portfolio of more than 640 hotels in operation and committed development, is celebrating its most successful year to date, with Travel + Leisure naming ten of its properties to the 2026 T+L 500 list of the best hotels in the world – a significant increase on last year. This record achievement reflects the breadth and depth of Minor Hotels’ global portfolio, with standout properties across Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and throughout the Americas.

Asia delivered the strongest representation, with five Anantara properties celebrated for their distinctive sense of place and world class hospitality. In Vietnam, Anantara Hoi An Resort, a riverside sanctuary set within a UNESCO listed heritage town, was recognised for its serene atmosphere and culture-led experiences. Further south, secluded coastal hideaway Anantara Quy Nhon Villas earned praise for its personalised villa host service and refined barefoot luxury.

In Sri Lanka, Anantara Kalutara Resort, set between lagoon and ocean on architect Geoffrey Bawa’s final project site, was honoured for its striking design and warm island hospitality. Also recognised was Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort, a clifftop retreat in a coconut plantation, celebrated for its restorative seclusion and exceptional culinary journeys. Rounding out the region, Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas was once again acknowledged as one of the Indian Ocean’s most iconic escapes, renowned for its overwater villas, underwater dining and pristine UNESCO Biosphere Reserve setting.

In Europe, two Italian jewels were honoured for their blend of heritage and contemporary luxury. On the Amalfi Coast, Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel, a 13th century cliffside monastery transformed into a refined retreat, shone thanks to its dramatic setting and masterful preservation of history. In Rome, the honour went to Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel, a neoclassical landmark overlooking Piazza della Repubblica and host to Anantara Concorso Roma.

Across Africa and the Middle East, Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort, famed for its Thai inspired design and the city’s first overwater villas, was celebrated for delivering resort style tranquillity in the heart of a global metropolis, while Kilindi Zanzibar, part of the Elewana Collection, was recognised for its intimate, white pavilion architecture and its reputation as one of East Africa’s most romantic boutique retreats. In South America, Tivoli Mofarrej São Paulo Hotel further cemented its status as one of Brazil’s leading urban luxury hotels.

“To see ten of our properties recognised in the T+L 500 underlines the scale and quality of our global luxury portfolio,” said Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International, the parent company of Minor Hotels. “It reflects the breadth of what we’re doing in luxury today, and the consistency with which those experiences are resonating with guests across our brands and regions.”

This year’s T+L 500 list is drawn from the results of the 2025 Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards. It compiles the hotels and resorts that readers return to again and again for quality, luxury, exceptional service and outstanding amenities. Presented in alphabetical order and organised by geographic region, the T+L 500 is not a ranked list, but rather an invaluable resource for travellers who rely on Travel + Leisure for trusted recommendations and expert guidance. The full 2026 T+L 500 is featured in the May 2026 issue of Travel + Leisure and select highlights can be found online at travelandleisure.com.
